Today we made “homemade almond milk” for the first time! It was surprisingly super easy!!
Wanna know how to make it?!
You will need.
- One cup of soaked almonds.
- 5 cups of filtered water ( Less to thicken, more to thin)
- 1 pinch of sea salt.
- 2 whole dates (Optional to sweeten)
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract. Or one vanilla bean. (Optional, For vanilla milk)
- 2 Tbsp coco powder. (Optional for chocolate milk)
So you will need to first soak 1 cup of almonds in 2 cups of water over night
Once you have your soaked almonds (See how much bigger the almonds are!!)
You will need about 5 cups of filtered water ( Less to thicken, more to thin)
Pour your 1 cup of soaked almonds in a blender with 5 cups of water. Blend on high for 2 minutes so you get the most out of your almonds
Once you are done blending your almonds get a thin dish rag ( Clean) Or a muslin cloth blanket. Lay it over your bowl and pour over your almond milk.
Then carefully pick all corners up and squeeze out your milk!!
Then transform in to a glass container and store in fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for one month.
And that is all to making almond milk!! So easy and simple!!
Save your used almonds for Cookies, granola Or almond butter!!
